Cathy M. Brownson concentrates her practice in the area of guardian ad litem services.
An experienced and trained attorney guardian ad litem, Cathy serves the best interests of a child or alleged incapacitated adult in a variety of appointed court proceedings, including child custody, divorce, paternity, guardianships, and adoptions.
Since 2010, Cathy has served the Hamilton County Guardian Ad Litem Program as a guardian ad litem advocate. In 2016, she was selected to serve as an attorney for the Hamilton County Guardian Ad Litem CASA Program. Cathy represents the Program and individual guardians ad litem in legal proceedings.
As a guardian ad litem, Cathy investigates, gathers and reports information to the court. She is available to testify at trial. Cathy may make recommendations for issues such as custody, parenting time, relocation, and necessary services for the family. Cathy may be requested by counsel or mediators to consult in settlement between parties.
Cathy has utilized her years of experience to train, mentor and make presentations to other attorneys regarding the guardian ad litem role.
